Oakland, CA – July 16, 2012  – The California Health Information and Partnership Services Organization (CalHIPSO) has added three additional Electronic Health Record (EHR) vendors to its list of EHR Vendor Partners. The additional EHR systems are Mitochon Systems, Medstreaming and Meditab/SuiteMed. These vendors offer an economical option for small and solo practices that are ready to adopt an EHR, says Bre Jackson, CalHIPSO CIO. “As we looked to expand  the number of EHR Vendor Partners working with CalHIPSO, we focused on less expensive systems with a strong market presence in California and demonstrated alignment to the needs of the small and solo practice. “

Ms. Jackson went on to share that the process for selection included extensive review of these company’s technical capabilities over many months under the guidance of an experienced steering committee. This labor intensive process ensured that CalHIPSO’s newest partners possessed the expertise to address revenue cycle management, quality reporting, and HIE interface capabilities; it also guaranteed pricing and contract terms as negotiated by CalHIPSO.

CalHIPSO is confident that these new vendor partners will be able to provide shorter and unique practice implementation plans which efficiently manage the most common barriers to EHR installation of the small practice. The end result, and mission of CalHIPSO, is that providers on these systems will meet Medicare/Medicaid EHR incentive requirements and have a sustainable system to support the provision of better quality care.

“CalHIPSO is pleased to welcome additional EHR Vendors to our Vendor Partner Program.” says Speranza Avram, CalHIPSO CEO. We look forward to working with them to help our member physician achieve meaningful use”

“California physicians are faced with one of the most tumultuous healthcare environments in the United States, and are dealing with the high demand task of adapting to Electronic Medical Records. The great news for providers in California is that they have a trusted partner in CalHIPSO to turn to for guidance every step of the way” Wael Elseaidy CTO/CEO at Medstreaming.  “We look forward to extending the Medstreaming value proposition in tandem with CalHIPSO”.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to partner with CalHIPSO and to have our service so comprehensively vetted on behalf of their Physician community” says Chris Riley, CEO at Mitochon Systems.  “The Mitochon team looks forward to making our shared vision of Free EHR End to End services being made available to the CalHIPSO Physician community.  We recognize the cost pressure on physicians today and strive to deliver superior services enabling them to earn and keep the ARRA incentive funds they deserve.”
